Welcome to Module 22! In this module, you will study a religious/spiritual/ethical tradition OR a demographic (i.e. LGBTQ, aging individuals, ELL, etc.) of your choice. Choose one that you want to get to know on an introductory level or that you want to go deeper with. Alternatively, consider who you may companion with in the future, and study that tradition or demographic. You may want to do Passage Meditation based on writings from the tradition. Consider what theory and information will guide you towards understanding people of the tradition. Read Mabry, Vest, Smith, pluralism.org, theinterfaithobserver.org and/or watch/listen to any additional sources that will inform your inquiry. You may want to interview someone from the tradition or attend a lecture or service. Please make a list of all the sources, as we may want to share them with future cohorts. Reflective Expression (RE) What are the key take-aways from Module 25 for you as a spiritual guide? What do you believe the people you have encountered in your inquiry have to say to the world at large? What might a relationship with a seeker invite you to? What are some of the listening skills (from our entire curriculum) that may help you the most as you are in relationship with people from the tradition? Why do you think they are so important? Due Monday, August 13. Share and ConnectOnce you leave a comment or question, be sure to put a check mark in the box that says you wish to be notified of responses. When someone comments on the module, you will receive notification of their response in your e-mail inbox. We will be checking in regularly to address comments. Please try to post module-based questions here, rather than sending us a separate e-mail. It will be easier to keep Q & A in one place, so everyone benefits. Of course, if you have a question of a more personal nature, please e-mail us. We hope you will check in once each week to let us know how you are doing and to connect with your classmates. Let the conversation begin! We welcome your thoughts and look forward to chatting it up with you! The greatest thing you can do for another being is to provide the unconditional love that comes from making contact with that place in them that is beyond conditions, which is just pure consciousness, pure essence. That is, once we acknowledge each other as existing, just being, just being, then each of us is free to change optimally.
If I can just love you because here we are, then you are free to grow as you need to grow. – Ram Dass

Looking forward to spending these two weeks learning more about Creation Spirituality. A tradition and movement founded by Rev. Dr. Matthew Fox.

I would love to do some additional research on Black Liberation Theology, founded by the recently deceased James H. Cone. I'd like to focus on this as a Western, or United State phenomena and hopefully how ti can connect to world wide roots.

As I am in Paris for the next week, I am hoping to learn more about the paradox of strong Catholic roots and culture intersecting with predominantly irreligious, significantly atheist ( as much as 45%) modern population. An immersion into NONEs perhaps.!
